Merci Beaucoup

“Merci Beaucoup” is a 16.1h Fancy Chesnut 14 year old Thoroughbred Gelding owned by Prestige Training.

“Calvin” as he is known, has been a late starter, starting his career having only Evented since the 2001 season. Although he is a bit older than the average horse just starting his career, he has plenty of talent to move up the levels.

In May of 2001 “Calvin” completed in his first Beginner Novice Event finishing fourth, by October he was competing at Preliminary Level! He placed first at Beginner Novice at Pegusus Horse Trials in Grantsville, Utah, first place at Novice Level at Abbe Ranch Horse Trials, first place at Training Level at Penrose Horse Trials, and 3rd place Preliminary Level at Windy Wyoming Horse Trials in Laramie, Wyoming.

During the Central Colorado Chapter of the USEA Awards Banquet “Calvin” picked up awards in the Beginner Novice Division as well as in the Preliminary Young Riders Division.

“Calvin” was found in a field in Eastern Colorado, and was used as the guest trail horse for many years. Jim saw a “Diamond in the Rough” and started to show him to his full potential. In 2002, “Calvin” finished 2nd at Spring Gulch Horse Trials and 1st at Abbe Ranch Horse Trials at the Training Level!
